Wow, what an unprecedented time! An unprecedented time for everyone, but especially our healthcare heroes working on the front lines caring for others every day. An unprecedented time of concern for those at risk with underlying medical conditions and the elderly. We are reaching out to connect with all of you during the Coronavirus Pandemic to reassure you that our teams are working around the clock to ensure that your safety and well-being are maintained during this outbreak. Safety for our nurses and caregivers working on the front lines and safety for the medically fragile community that we serve. Caring in a BIG way is something we pride our community around, but it is truly times like these that define us.
We are confident in Lincoln Healthcare’s leadership team that has come together to lead the efforts ensuring that the most up to date protocols are being put in place and quickly. This is changing daily and we are constantly monitoring the situation. We are proud that over the last few years LH has implemented the most state-of-the-art technology platforms that allow us to monitor and track data quickly. We are also proud, more than ever, to have our very own Public Health Specialist on the team overseeing all of these protocols, along with our team of clinical experts and department heads. We are asking for everyone to stay in close communication with all these teams so that we may continue to provide optimal care in the homes while protecting our healthcare workers. Our healthcare workers are not only balancing the health and well-being of others but also their own health and most are even balancing childcare issues on top of that now too.
The most vital action you can take right now is to follow our guidelines and respond timely to any request that our teams are sending out. We have sent several forms of communications already over the past week via text and email platforms. These communications will continue to be sent out as new information keeps developing rapidly. Help us to keep those that need us the most right now safe and healthy by doing your part! We cannot express our appreciation enough for our Nurses and Caregivers that truly are the heroes every day, but especially during times like these! Please help us keep them safe so they can continue keeping all of you safe when you need it most. A few of the things that the LH team has implemented at this time:
A self-screening requirement prior to any shift in the home for all staff to comply with and also patients/families. Nurses/Caregivers will begin calling prior to entering the home to review the screening with you once they have completed their own self-screening 1st.
We are actively and have been actively working on ordering additional personal protection kits and N95 masks for those that the CDC has recommended the use for at this time.
We are expanding the use of our own Telehealth program, TeleLinc, that has already been being used in our nursing program since 2019.
LH has expanded our communication abilities and protocols to support extensive communications and work remote teams. Additional phone support has been added.
We are in constant communication with all federal, state and local health officials and continue to enhance our precautionary measures as needed. Our teams are closely monitoring the situation. We advise you to stay informed with the CDC links that have been sent out as well.
Clinical supplies such as gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, etc have all been ordered and our current low supplies have been triaged according to clinical needs.
LH has Enhanced training for our management teams and cross-trained our teams. We have added additional support teams to manage incoming questions/concerns. Ongoing trainings will continue to expand as needed.
We hope that this email finds you well at home. Please continue to limit non-essential visitors and travel/appointments. As this virus continues to spread. Our hearts and our thoughts are with you all and your care will remain our priority in a BIG way!
